source_control
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
The source_control public reference document aims to contain all currently-implemented features. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rlgYMRcBQ83a8sGT8O8zc3ZJRss6A_DQLXf-wb8dSwA/...
WASD to move. Ctrl to crouch. Space to jump; hold it to jump higher, platformer style.
Crouch while moving to slide. Jump while sliding to jump higher.
You've got 5 weapons. Switch between them with the mouse wheel or the top row number keys.
First weapon is The Cursor. Like it says on the tin, you can use it to interact with UI. Simple hitscan revolver. Right clicking will grapple onto enemies.
Second is The Zip Bomb. Click and hold to shoot a grenade, release to detonate. Shoot the grenade before it detonates to create an implosion that pulls in enemies. Every weapon in this game shoots on click and on release and the zip bomb will detonate shortly after release no matter what weapon you're holding, so switch to The Cursor and shoot the grenade.
Also, it will knock you back if you get caught in the explosion, but it can't hurt you.
Third weapon is The Screenshot. A short range weapon that freezes all enemies it hits for a few seconds. Once they get unfrozen, they take a bunch of damage, too. It's on a long recharge, though.
Fourth weapon is The Airbreak. It's a short-range, sluggish shotgun-type weapon. It's meant to shoot a burst of compressed air but it has no model. Shooting enemies will knock them back. If you shoot it while you're midair, all your momentum will get redirected away from where you're aiming. Right click will charge the tank, increasing damage, knockback, and range.
Fifth weapon is the Surge Protector. It's a high fire rate, low damage weapon. Hitting shots charges up a high damage laser that can be fired with right click. Firing the weapon increases the heat meter. The higher the heat, the less charge you'll gain per hit.
And there's a bar on the right side. It represents your Firewall. Play well and it'll rise. Play poorly and it'll fall. Higher firewall means more enemies with higher health and higher damage.
Tris are gained from killing enemies. They're displayed at the top of the screen.
Explore rooms to find Patches, upgrades that will increase your abilities. Find upgrade rooms to spend Tris and upgrade your Patches to invest further into the ones you like.
When you take damage, your health bar turn purple. That's called your Buffer. If you deal damage, you'll heal some of your Buffer. Buffer drains over time. Faster at low Firewall.
